What is your event cancellation policy?

Cancellation requests must be received by our Customer Service Team at info@nyas.org at least 15 days prior to the meeting start date. A 25% cancellation fee will be charged. There will be no refunds given for requests made after the 15 day timeline. There are no cancellation fees for free events.

When will I receive an access link to a virtual event I registered for?

If you didn’t receive the access link with your confirmation email, it will be sent to you an hour before the event begins. If you still haven’t received the link by that time, or if you’ve misplaced the email, please contact us at info@nyas.org.

How can I get help if I’m having trouble logging into my Academy account?

To sign in, visit the login page and enter your username and password. If you’ve forgotten your password, click here and enter your email address to receive a reset email.

Can I apply a promo code retroactively if I purchased an event at full price?

Yes, you can apply the discount retroactively. Contact us at info@nyas.org with the event name and your promo code, and we’ll be happy to assist you.

Do you offer any financial support for early-career scientists to get to your events?

Select scientific programs offer travel fellowships via abstract submission opportunities. If an event offers travel fellowships, that information will be noted directly on the registration page.

How can I request a support letter for a visa in order to travel to the US for an event?

To receive a registration confirmation letter from The New York Academy of Sciences for your visa application, you must first complete your event registration and payment. Once both are done, please email us at info@nyas.org to inform us of your payment. In your email, include the following details:

  • Full Name
  • Professional Title
  • Institutional Affiliation
  • Institutional Postal Mailing Address
  • Email Address
  • Event you are attending

Please note: We do not ever state “The Academy has invited you to participate in this event.”
