About Our Space

Rent Our Space

Rent Our Space

In 2023, The New York Academy of Sciences moved into a new location at 115 Broadway, just seven blocks from its first “home” when it was founded in 1817. With a range of versatile spaces that can accommodate up to 75 guests as well as smaller groups, our venue is the ideal setting for your organization’s meetings and events.

Modern Spaces Equipped for Success

Our contemporary, stylish spaces are located in downtown Manhattan and are available for up to six team members to convene in-person in each of three rooms. Each space is configurable, with state-of-the-art audio-visual technology and support offering virtual attendance, screen-sharing, etc. And it’s all serviced by our in-house technical staff.

Convenient and Accessible Location

Our strategic location in the vibrant pulse of downtown Manhattan allows us to source the finest caterers in the area. Our venue is easily accessible via all NYC public transit options – Subway, PATH, MTA Buses, LIRR and NJ Transit.

Your guests can arrive stress-free and ready to immerse themselves, with a variety of hotels and dining choices just steps away.

Experienced Planners for Seamless Events

Managing the details is in our organizational DNA. The New York Academy of Sciences has been a prolific event convener for over 100 years, bringing together top leaders in science, industry, academia, government and public policy.

Nobody knows events better than we do. Whether it’s our own events or your event hosted in our space, we are known for creating welcoming, engaging, one-of-a-kind experiences. We understand that every event is unique and are committed to accommodating you with excellent service to meticulously plan and execute your event.

The Academy works to ensure your event runs seamlessly – regardless of your group size, set-up needs, and timeline.

Partner Residency

What is a Partner Residency?

While the public can rent the Academy space, we also host a partner residency program that allows us to collaborate directly with other mission-based organizations. This program offers a direct means of connection and innovation across STEM fields.

Meet Basis Research Institute

We are proud to feature our partner resident, Basis Research Institute, a nonprofit applied research organization focused on understanding and building intelligence. Their mission is to define the mathematical principles of reasoning, learning, and decision-making, while creating software based on these principles. Through their research in machine learning, probabilistic programming, and AI, Basis Research Institute aims to advance society’s ability to solve complex problems.

Karen Schroeder, Research Operations Manager at Basis, presents the team’s projects to Academy staff.

As part of our collaboration, Basis Research Institute fellows share office space with Academy staff, fostering innovation and collaboration between our organizations. In return, they offer valuable consulting services to the Academy community – leading talks and providing guidance on joint projects and events.

Through this partnership, we unlock the potential to combine advanced AI research with practical applications. Our shared space and collaborative environment act as incubators for new ideas, strengthening connections within the New York-based AI community.
